Domaine Jean-Yves Millaire

It all began in 1950 when Jean Garnier (Jean-Yves’ grandfather) bought 6ha of vine in the municipalities of St Michel de Fronsac and Fronsac. In 1979, when the operation was only 7 years old, the farm was leased to friends for 18 years. In January 1998 the adventure began with the family vineyards, then gradually the property expanded. Then in 2005 Jean-Yves’ wife Christine chose to transition their vineyards into organic farming in 2006 and then onto biodynamic farming in 2009.

Jean-Yves and Christine are above all peasants and have chosen biodynamic cultivation to create harmonious living conditions between the land, the vine and their environment. This balance of the ecosystem through the different care provided to the vineyard (soil work, preparation based on plants, silica and compost, respect for lunar and terrestrial rhythms) allow them to offer you unique wines that are truly the pure expression of their terroir and the men who shape them.

Their many plots are located on the hillsides overlooking Isle and Dordogne with various exposures allowing parcel harvest and therefore optimal maturity.

This region is not known for having a lot of like-minded producers when it comes to grape growing. We have searched for many years to find wines like these. Bordeaux that is terroir-driven, alive and pulsing with energy at these prices are hard to find. We hope you like them as much as we do.
